Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Written to be read, not skimmed past.
Who we are
BillingEngine (billingengine.tech) is an AI economics product for financial institutions. It provides education on AI workload economics and tools to model the cost of an AI use case before capital is committed.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, BillingEngine is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at hello@billingengine.tech.
What we collect
Account data. If you create an account, we store your email address and, if you provide it, your name, company and role.
Assessment data. The answers you give in the use-case assessment: volumes, handling times, labour costs, architecture details and similar operational figures. We treat these as confidential business information.
Payment data. Stripe processes card and billing details. We store payment references and entitlement status, not your card number.
Usage data. Anonymous product analytics such as pages visited, features used and events like starting an assessment. We use this to improve the product.
Technical data. Standard server logs and the data needed to keep you signed in.
What we do not collect
We do not collect special category data. We do not sell personal data to anyone. We do not use your assessment inputs to train AI models.
The Academy works without an account, and anonymous assessments are stored only in your browser until you choose to create an account.
How we use your data
We use account data to authenticate you and to save your assessments and reports. We use assessment data to compute your results and to show them back to you. We use usage data in aggregate to understand which parts of the product are useful.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Service providers
Lovable provides application hosting, Supabase provides account authentication and database storage, and Stripe processes card payments and billing information when you purchase an assessment. We do not claim that data remains in a particular country or region.
Financial calculations are deterministic and never pass through an AI model. BillingEngine does not currently send assessment inputs to a large language model.
Printable reports are rendered in your browser and are not sent to a separate PDF-generation provider.
Retention
We keep account and assessment data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion by email. We respond within 30 days and delete data unless we must retain records by law.
Anonymous usage analytics are kept in aggregate form and cannot be traced back to you.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export and delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and, for material changes, notify account holders by email. The date of the latest version is shown below.
